Petronas in Discussions with Several Petrochemical Companies for Rapid Project

Petronas is in discussions with several companies including Dow Chemical, ExxonMobil, and Shell for building petrochemical plants at Petrona’s previously announced $20-billion refinery and petrochemicals complex, called the Refinery and Petrochemicals Integrated Development (Rapid) project, say press reports. Petronas did not comment on the developments, when contacted by CW. The Rapid project, which was announced in May 2011, will be located at Pengerang in the state of Johor, southern Malaysia. Petronas is also reportedly talking to Itochu Corp. (Tokyo)...
