Nippon Shokubai opens acrylic acid and superabsorbents complex in Indonesia

Nippon Shokubai (Osaka) today held an inauguration ceremony for its $300-million acrylic acid and superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) manufacturing complex at Cilegon, Indonesia. The company is one of the leading global suppliers of SAPs, used mainly in baby diapers and hygiene products. The new Cilegon complex is designed to produce 80,000 m.t./year of acrylic acid and 90,000 m.t./year SAPs.
