Lanxess expects a better first quarter and full year after a challenging 2013

Lanxess today said it expects first quarter 2014 Ebitda pre-exceptionals to reach around €200 million ($276.6 million), up from €174 million in the year-earlier period, which was depressed by start-up costs. This is despite the impact of a strike at the company’s Zwijndrecht, Belgium, butyl rubber plant, where production has been at a standstill for about three weeks.
