LG International plans methanol complex in Indonesia

LG International (Seoul) plans to invest in a large petrochemical complex in the Bintuni industrial area, West Papua, Indonesia, The Jakarta Post reports. On Friday following a meeting with minister of industry of Indonesia, Mohamad Suleman Hidayat, Jee Hoon-Kang, senior executive at LG, said that LG plans to build a 1-million m.t./year methanol plant at the site. However, the company needs assurances that it will be able to secure enough gas from the Indonesian government to go ahead with the project. The facility would require 91 million standard cubic feet/day...
