Kao completes construction of surfactants plant in Indonesia

Kao Corp. (Tokyo) says that its Kao Indonesia Chemicals (Bekasi, Indonesia) subsidiary has completed the construction of the previously announced new plant for the production of surfactants at the Karawan International Industry City (KIIC), located in the suburbs of Jakarta. Commercial production at the plant will begin next month. The initial investment in the plant is about ¥4 billion ($40 million). Kao had announced plans to build the plant in February 2012.
