India's first SBR production plant inaugurated

India's first styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) plant, at Panipat, was inaugurated on 29 November by the country's minister of petroleum, natural gas, and textiles, Panabakka Lakshmi. Indian Oil (New Delhi), TSRC (Taipei), and Marubeni (Tokyo) are partners—holding stakes of 50%, 30%, and 20%, respectively—in Indian Synthetic Rubber Ltd (ISRL), the joint venture that owns and operates the plant.
