Indian government proposes creation of plastic parks to promote converter industries

The government of India says it has proposed the establishment of plastic parks for the promotion of downstream plastic-processing industries. The scheme, to be implemented by the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (New Delhi), envisages the creation of special purpose vehicles (SPV) that would provide infrastructure and common facilities for the parks. Indian state governments or agencies will establish the SPVs and have equity participation in them.
