Cabot to close carbon black facility in Malaysia

Cabot says that the board of its joint venture carbon black company, Cabot Malaysia (Port Dickson), has decided to cease carbon black production at its Port Dickson facility by the end of July. The decision, which will affect about 90 employees, was due to the facility’s manufacturing inefficiencies and raw materials costs, Cabot says. Cabot holds a 51% stake in Cabot Malaysia.
