Regions :: Southeast Asia Asahi Kasei opens acrylonitrile, MMA, and spunbond facilities in Thailand9:51 AM MST | February 14, 2013 | Deepti Ramesh Asahi Kasei says that PTT Asahi Chemical (Map Ta Phut), on 11 February, officially opened the previously announced facilities for the production of acrylonitrile (AN) and methyl methacrylate (MMA) at the Map Ta Phut industrial estate, in Rayong Province. PTT Asahi Chemical, which was established in 2006, is owned 48.5% each by Asahi’s Asahi Kasei Chemicals (AKC) subsidiary and PTT (Bangkok), and 3% by Marubeni (Tokyo). Construction on the facilities that produce 200,000 m.t./year of AN; 70,000 m.t./year of MMA; and 160,000 m.t./year of ammonium sulfate...
