Teijin to build novel meta-aramid fiber plant in Thailand

Teijin announced today that it will invest ¥4.5 billion ($45 million) in a plant in Thailand, which will produce a new type of meta-aramid fiber. The newly developed product offers “the world's highest level of heat resistance combined with excellent dyeablility,” Teijin says. The new plant will be located within the company’s Teijin (Thailand) subsidiary in Ayutthaya Province, Thailand. Construction will begin in December with production scheduled from July 2015.
