Regions :: South America :: Venezuela Basell’s Process Chosen For Venezuela LDPE Plant9:47 AM MDT | July 27, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Basell says its Lupotech T technology has been selected by Poliolefinas Internacionales, an affiliate of Petroquímica de Venezuela and a group of private shareholders, for a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) project at Maracaibo, Venezuela. The 300,000-m.t./year plant is expected to start operating in 2011. It will be the first high-pressure LDPE plant to be built in the Americas in over a decade, says Just Jansz, president of Basell Technology.
