Vale's fertilizer revenue down 18%

Vale's (Rio de Janeiro) gross operating revenue from its fertilizer operations totaled $661 million in the second quarter, down about 18% year-on-year (YOY), and net revenue amounted to $614 million, more than 19% lower YOY. Adjusted Ebitda increased to $72 million in the second quarter, more than doubling from $33 million in the same quarter of last year, mostly due to the positive impact of higher sales prices.
