Solvay Plans Bio-Based PVC Project

Solvay says that its board has approved a $135-million investment for an integrated plant to produce ethylene from bioethanol at Santo Andre, Brazil. The company expects the facility to be completed by 2010. The investment is the second stage of an expansion first announced in 2006 (CW, Sept. 6/13, 2006, p. 18).
