Praxair to build cryogenic plant for Brazilian steel mill

Praxair today announced that it has signed a long-term contract to supply industrial gases to Companhia Siderúrgica do Pecém’s (CSP; Fortaleza, Ceará State, Brazil) steel mill being built near the Port of Pecém, at Ceará. CSP is a joint venture among Brazilian Vale (Rio de Janeiro) abd South Korean Dongkuk Steel (Seoul) and Posco Steel (Pohang, South Korea). Praxair will build, own, and operate a 2,400-m.t./day cryogenic plant that will produce gaseous and liquid oxygen, nitrogen, and argon, the company says...
