Regions :: South America :: Brazil Lanxess Completes Synthetic Rubber Deal in Brazil8:51 AM MDT | April 8, 2008 | Michelle Bryner Lanxess says it has completed the acquisition of Braskem and Unipar’s combined 70% stake in synthetic rubber producer Petroflex (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) for €198 million ($289 million) (CW, Dec. 19/26, 2007, p. 4). Petroflex is Latin America’s largest rubber producer and has manufacturing sites at Cabo, Duque de Caxias, and Triunfo. The company’s total synthetic rubber capacity is about 400,000 m.t./year and its most recent annual sales were about €500 million.
