Invista To Build Spandex Fiber Plant in Brazil

Invista says it will invest over $100 million to build a spandex fiber plant at its facility in Paulínia, Brazil. The plant is due onstream in late 2012. Capacity was not disclosed. “Brazil is a growing market for our business and our customers,” says David Trerotola, president of Invista Apparel. “As the only spandex producer currently in Brazil, Invista’s presence plays an important role in our global apparel sales volumes.” Invista already operates a spandex fiber plant at its Paulínia site, as well as one at...
