GraalBio, Chemtex Announce Plans for Brazilian Cellulosic Biofuel Plant

Brazilian biofuels and biochemicals company GraalBio Investimentos S.A. says it has licensed Chemtex’s Proesa cellulosic ethanol process technology for a previously announced facility in Brazil. Financial terms were not disclosed. The 22 million gals/year facility at Nord Est, Alagoas is expected to come online by the end of 2013, making it Brazil’s first commercial-scale cellulosic ethanol plant, GraalBio says.
