Evonik confirms plans for precipitated silicas plant in Brazil

Evonik Industries has confirmed plans to build a previously announced plant to produce precipitated silicas at Americana, Brazil, near São Paulo. Evonik says it is investing "a mid-double-digit million-euro amount" in the facility, which is scheduled to be onstream in 2016. The production plant will be the first highly dispersible (HD) silica in South America, the company says. The plant's capacity has not been disclosed.
