Regions :: South America :: Brazil ETH, Amyris Plan Renewable Farnesene Joint Venture9:51 AM MDT | October 20, 2011 | Kara Sissell Synthetic biology firm Amyris (Emeryville, CA) says it has signed an agreement with Brazilian ethanol producer ETH Bioenergia (São Paulo) to form a joint venture for the development of renewable farnesene. The parties expect to begin production in 2014. The agreement gives Amyris access to up to two million tons/year of sugarcane crush capacity from one of ETH’s greenfield mills in Brazil. The joint venture will be controlled by ETH and Amyris will have exclusive rights to market the farnesene from the facility. ETH is a subsidiary of Odebrecht...
