Dow and ERB open biomass-based cogeneration plant in Brazil

Dow Chemical says it has joined forces with Energias Renováveis do Brasil (ERB; São Paulo) to launch a cogeneration plant using energy based on eucalyptus biomass. With this new process, Dow's largest factory in the countryâ€•located at Aratu in the state of Bahiaâ€•will diversify its energy matrix using renewable energy in an industrial-scale plant, thus increasing operational flexibility and decreasing cost fluctuations, Dow says.
