Dow and ERB open biomass-based cogeneration plant in Brazil

Dow Chemical says it has joined forces with Energias Renováveis do Brasil (ERB; São Paulo) to launch a cogeneration plant using energy based on eucalyptus biomass. With this new process, Dow's largest factory in the country―located at Aratu in the state of Bahia―will diversify its energy matrix using renewable energy in an industrial-scale plant, thus increasing operational flexibility and decreasing cost fluctuations, Dow says.
