Dow Chemical’s recently announced joint venture with Mitsui & Co. (Tokyo) to revive Dow’s plans for a world-scale biopolymers plant at Santa Vitoria marks Dow’s largest investment in Brazil to date. Dow’s green polyethylene (PE) project had fallen off the radar following the financial turmoil of 2008, but Dow executives say the project is now at the forefront of the company’s global strategy.
