Cadila Healthcare Buys Brazilian Pharma Firm

Cadila Healthcare (Ahmedabad, India), a pharmaceuticals company, has signed an agreement to acquire Quimica e Farmaceutica Nikkho do Brasil (Nikkho; Rio de Janeiro), a medium-size pharma company, for about $26 million. The acquisition marks Cadila’s entry into the Brazilian generic pharmaceuticals business. Cadila is acquiring Nikkho through Cadila’s Zydus Healthcare Brasil (Sao Paulo) subsidiary.
