Brazil's petrochemical production up 7.7% during March

Brazil's petrochemical production increased by 7.72% during March 2013 compared with March last year, according to the latest set of figures published by industry association Abiquim (São Paulo). Despite a 5.13% increase in domestic sales and a 0.15% increase in prices during the monthly period, capacity utilization in the petrochemical sector contracted by 4 percentage points, to 84%. However, petrochemical production in Brazil decreased by 2.76% in the first quarter of this year, and domestic sales declined by 2.46% compared with the same quarter...
