Brazil's demand for chemicals up 7.1% in 2013, but production up just 1.6%

Brazil's demand for chemical products grew 7.1% in 2013 compared with 2012, exceeding GDP growth, 2.3%, during the same period, according to figures released by Abiquim (São Paulo), the country's chemical industry association. No baseline figures have been published. But, the country's chemical production grew by just 1.6% in 2013 compared with the previous year.
