Braskem’s Loss Narrows, Sales Rise

Braskem reported a fourth-quarter net loss of R$893 million ($496.7 million), compared with a net loss of R$2.1 billion in the same period of 2008. The relative improvement was driven by better operating performance and the depreciation in the dollar against the real.
