Regions :: South America :: Brazil Braskem and PetroPeru Sign LOI to Progress Petchems Project in Peru8:56 AM MST | November 28, 2011 | Natasha Alperowicz Braskem and PetroPeru (Lima) on Thursday signed a letter of intent (LOI) to carry out a feasibility study into a previously announced petrochemical complex planned as a joint venture between the two companies. Braskem America CEO Luiz de Mendonça said the study will take one year to completed and cost about $5 million. The partners would invest about $3 billion in the project on the coast of Peru, which would be designed to produce 1 million m.t./year of resins from 2017.
