Amyris resumes farnesene production in Brazil, prepares to make patchouli

Amyris (Emeryville, CA) has resumed production at its industrial fermentation plant at Brotas, Brazil, following a planned maintenance and upgrade period, the company announced today. The plant produces farnesene for a range of applications and, following the upgrade, will add patchouli for the fragrance industry later this year, Amyris says. The plant improvements were completed on time and under budget prior to the start of the sugarcane harvest season, Amyris says.
