Regions :: South America :: Brazil AkzoNobel Invests in Plant to Supply New Pulp Mill in Brazil9:05 AM MST | February 1, 2012 | Sotirios Frantzanas AkzoNobel says its Eka Chemicals subsidiary plans to invest €80 million ($105 million) in the construction of a new pulp "chemical island" facility in Brazil. Eka Chemicals, AkzoNobel's pulp and paper chemicals business, will supply the Suzano Maranhão pulp mill from the new facility. It is the second-largest investment by AkzoNobel in Brazil during the past 12 months. In January 2011, AkzoNobel invested €90 million in a new sodium chlorate facility there.
