APLA 2012: Latin American growth set to outpace developed world

Latin America is well positioned to take advantage of the demand growth stemming from rapidly growing middle classes in countries such as China and Brazil, but governments and producers in the region must work to remove significant threats to growth, including the high cost of production and ballooning trade deficits, according to speakers at the 32nd annual meeting of the Latin American Chemical Industry Association (APLA), currently being held in Rio de Janeiro.
