Schulman Acquires Majority Stake in Surplast

 A. Schulman says it has agreed to purchases a 51% stake Argentina-based rotational-molding firm Surplast (Buenos Aires) for $1.4 million. Alta Plastica (Buenos Aires), one of the largest resins distributors in Argentina, holds the remaining interest in Surplast.  The deal complements Schulman’s leading position in the supply of specialty powders and will enhance its ability to provide products for the rotational molding industry throughout South America, says Gustavo Perez, general manager and COO/Americas at Schulman.
