Reports: Dow and ENAP to close units in Chile

Empresa Nacional del Petróleo (ENAP; Santiago) will close its steam cracker at Hualpén, Chile, and a Dow Chemical subsidiary in the country will shutter its low-density polyethylene (LDPE) plant at Talcahuano, Chile, according to various local news reports. Neither the subsidiary nor ENAP were immediately available for comment. ENAP's cracker supplies the Dow subsidiary's LDPE production plant with ethylene, the reports add.
