Methanex Commissions Huge Methanol Plant in Egypt

Methanex, the global leading producer of methanol, has announced the start-up of a 1.3-million m.t./year methanol plant in Egypt. Bruce Aitken, president and CEO of Methanex confirmed during the company's results presentation yesterday that the "Egypt project produced first methanol last week." Construction of the plant is complete and the commissioning phase is almost at an end.
