Regions :: South America :: Argentina Lanxess Buys Rubber Chemicals Company in Argentina7:05 AM MST | January 19, 2011 | Natasha Alperowicz Rhein Chemie, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lanxess, has acquired Darmex (Buenos Aires), a privately owned producer of release agents and curing bladders for the tire industry. The acquisition, effective immediately and including Darmex's bladder technology in Latin America, transforms Rhein Chemie into a global leading provider of release agents for rubber products, Lanxess says. Financial details were not disclosed. Darmex, with 2010 sales of some €30 million ($38.9 million), operates plants at Burzaco and Merlo, Argentina, and Colonia, Uruguay, and employs...
