Canadian firm commences well fracture stimulation at Argentina shale formation

Azabache Energy (Calgary, AB) has commenced a well fracture stimulation at the Covunco Norte-Sur block in Argentina's Vaca Muerta shale formation, the company has announced. The operation will involve eight clusters of perforations in three stages, stimulating the formation with a total of 12,357 sacks (561 m.t.) of proppant. Schlumberger (Houston) has planned and will perform the fracture stimulation, Azabache says. The stimulation operation is expected to last a total of 3 days, followed by a 10-day test period.
