BASF to Build Sodium Methylate Plant in Argentina

BASF says it plans to build a 60,000-m.t./year sodium methylate plant at its Rosario, Argentina site. The plant will be the company’s second sodium methylate facility in South America. BASF says the investment will help the company strengthen its regional presence in the biodiesel sector.  The first sodium methylate plant will also have capacity for 60,000 m.t./year, and will start up at the end of this year at Guaratinguetá, Brazil. The two plants will strengthen BASF’s competitive position in South America, says Stefano Pigozzi...
