Argentina's January chemical output shrinks 7.8%

Argentina's chemical output fell 7.8% in January 2014 compared with January 2013, according to the latest monthly industrial estimates released by state statistics office Indec (Buenos Aires). Indec did not provide baseline indications for any of the data released. Output of agricultural chemicals dropped 17.8% year-on-year (YOY), and production of pharmaceuticals declined 13.1%. Basic chemicals production declined 5% YOY. The segments showing output growth included industrial gases with a 15.4% YOY increase, and polymers and synthetic rubber up 4.3% YOY...
