Regions :: South America :: Argentina Alfa Completes PET Acquisition6:35 AM MST | December 12, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Grupo Alfa (Moneterrey, Mexico) says it has completed the previously announced acquisitions of Eastman Chemical’s Cosoleacaque, Mexico and Zarate, Argentina polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plants (CW, Sept. 26, p. 39). The Cosoleacaque plant has a capacity of 150,000 m.t./year; Zarate’s capacity is 185,000 m.t./year. Alfa’s petrochemical unit, Alpek, operates a purified terephthalic acid plant next to the Cosoleacaque facility.
