Economic Recovery Increases World Enzyme Demand

Global demand for enzymes is expected to rise by 6.8%/year to $8 billion in 2015. The increase in demand for enzymes reflects a continued rebound in the world economy. Most markets are expected to achieve growth rates higher than 5%/year, except enzymes for biofuel production, and a few other small industrial enzyme markets, according to a report by The Freedonia Group (Cleveland, OH).
