Nan Ya Plastics to Shut Its Plants Following Local Government Order

Nan Ya Plastics (Taipei), an affiliate of Formosa Plastics (Taipei) will shut down five of its manufacturing plants at Formosa Plastics’ manufacturing complex at Mailiao in Yunlin County, Taiwan, in phases, for safety inspections, press reports say. The Yunlin County government asked Nan Ya Plastics and Formosa Plastics to shut some of their plants due to safety concerns, following two fires at the manufacturing complex at Mailiao last month.
