Kraton to merge with styrenic block copolymer business of LCY Chemical

Kraton Performance Polymers has entered into a definitive agreement to combine with the styrenic block copolymer (SBC) operations of LCY Chemical (Taipei), which had been earlier known as Lee Chang Yung Chemical Industry Corp. The deal will create a leading global manufacturer of SBC, with over $2 billion in annual revenue, Kraton says. Kraton reported sales of about $1.42 billion in 2012, and the SBC business of LCY reported sales of about $619 million in 2012.
