Regions :: North Asia :: Taiwan Formosa Increases Operating Rate of Ethylene Units5:11 AM MST | January 20, 2009 | Deepti Ramesh Formosa Petrochemical (Mailiao, Taiwan) has increased the operating rate of its No.2 and No.3 ethylene plants at Mailiao, due to an increase in demand, say reports. The company increased the operating rate of the two plants to 90%-95%, from 80%-85%. Formosa Petrochemical however shut its No.1 700,000-m.t./year ethylene unit on January 6, which is expected to remain idle for an indefinite period.
