Kraton and Formosa revive Taiwan HSBC joint venture

Kraton has revived plans for a 50-50 joint venture with Formosa Petrochemical to build and operate a 30,000-m.t./year hydrogenated styrenic block copolymer (HSBC) plant at Formosa’s Mailiao, Taiwan, site. Construction costs for the HSBC jv at Mailiao will be at least $200 million, and the plant could be online as early as mid-2015, Kraton says.
