Samsung Total Approves P-Xylene Project

Samsung Total Petrochemicals, a 50-50 joint venture between Total and the Samsung Group, says that its board has approved a won1.66-trillion ($1.4 billion) investment to build a 1-million m.t./year para-xylene plant at the company's Daesan, Korea complex. The plant is due to start operating in September 2014. The project will increase Samsung Total Petrochemicals' overall p-xylene capacity to 1.6 million m.t./year.
