Regions :: North Asia :: Korea Samsung Total Adds EVA Plant to Aromatics Project11:38 AM MST | January 11, 2012 | Ian Young Samsung Total Petrochemicals says it will build an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) plant in addition to a recently announced para-xylene plant, at the company's Daesan, Korea site. Samsung Total says that the p-xylene unit will form part of an aromatics complex that will also produce benzene. The overall investment to build the new plants will be about won2 trillion ($1.7 billion). The EVA plant will have a capacity of 240,000 m.t./year and is due to start operating by the second quarter of 2014. The aromatics complex will have capacity for 420,000...
