Samsung Engineering to merge with Samsung Heavy Industries

Samsung Engineering (Seoul), the largest engineering company in South Korea, says that it will merge with Samsung Heavy Industries (Seoul), the world’s market leader in drillship liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers and floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO). The merger was decided during their board of directors meeting on 1 September in order to create a world-class total solution provider for shipbuilding and onshore and offshore services, the companies say.
