Samsung-BP Adds Acetic Acid Capacity in Korea

Samsung-BP Chemicals Co. (Ulsan, Korea) will debottleneck its acetic capacity plant at the Ulsan complex. The company owned 51% by BP and 49% by Samsung will add 100,000 m.t./year capacity during the planned maintenance to be started in mid September. The extra capacity will be available at the end of the one month maintenance period. Samsung-BP's total acetic acid capacity at the site will rise to 600,000 m.t./year.
