SK Global Chemical reports rise in quarterly profits

SK Global Chemical, the petrochemical business of SK Innovation (Seoul), formerly SK Energy, recorded a 49% rise in operating profits for the fourth quarter ended 31 December 2012, compared with the year-ago period, to 137.4 billion South Korean won ($125 million). Fourth-quarter sales decreased 15%, to won2.85 trillion. SK Global Chemical’s overall petrochemical product sales volumes decreased to 1.82 million m.t. in the fourth quarter, from 2.53 million m.t. in the year-ago quarter.
