SK Global Chemical reports rise in quarterly operating profits

SK Global Chemical, the petrochemical business of SK Innovation (Seoul), formerly SK Energy, recorded a 37.1% rise in operating profits for the second quarter of 2013 compared with the year-ago quarter, to 223.6 billion South Korean won ($200 million). Second-quarter sales decreased 1.9%, however, to won3.13 trillion. In the first quarter of 2013, SK Global Chemical recorded sales of won3.28 trillion and operating profits of won243.8 billion.
