LG Chem secures global patent for SRS technology

LG Chem (Seoul), Korea’s largest chemical company, says that it has secured patent rights from Europe and Japan on its proprietary safety-reinforced separator (SRS) technology. The SRS technology, developed by LG Chem, makes the semipermeable membrane mechanically and thermally superior compared with other separators and increases the safety of lithium-ion batteries built for electric cars, LG Chem says.
