LG Chem interested in buying polyester producer Woongjin Chemical

LG Chem is interested in acquiring Woongjin Chemical (Seoul), a Woongjin Group affiliate, local sources say. The Korean Stock Exchange today requested that LG Chem clarify rumors that it is interested in buying Woongjin Chemical. LG Chem has appointed Samil PwC as financial advisor and Lee & Ko as legal consultant, according to banking sources.   LG Chem would be joining several other contenders looking to acquire Woongjin Chemical, a producer of polyester filament and staple fibers, polyester chips, and membrane filters...
